FCPS Get2Green Earth Week

April 17-20, 2023

FCPS Get2Green is excited to host our division-wide Earth Week 2023!  Earth Week is a fun way to foster conversation and learning about environmental topics that are essential in developing students as environmental stewards and ethical and global citizens. Student passion is a driver for action! Use the resources below to engage your students in FCPS Earth Week!

 

Get2Green Earth Week 2023 Themes

Students and Staff are invited to wear the color matching each day’s theme to show your Earth Week spirit!

 

  • Monday, April 17 – Watershed Day (yellow)
  • Tuesday, April 18 – Zero Waste Day (green)
  • Wednesday, April 19 – Climate Change Day (purple)
  • Thursday, April 20 – Conservation Day (red)

Get2Green Connect Four Our Planet - Elementary Students

Looking for a fun way to engage in Earth Week? The Connect Four boards have fun activities for each day in Earth Week. Choose an activity for each day to complete with your class or green team.

 

Teachers that engage a class or team that complete at least one activity for each day can be entered into a drawing for a Customized Outdoor Learning Prize pack valued at $300! The activities you choose don’t need to connect. Participating students will receive Get2Green water bottle decals. Submit the Earth Week Prize Form by Friday, April 28 to get decals for your students and be entered to win the Prize Pack.

Mount Vernon District Environment Expo: join for exhibitors, workshops, live music, live reptile & owl programs, electric vehicles, nature walks, Junior Ranger program, Recycle Right, Touch-a-Truck, give-aways and more!
